Engineers Assistant (Lothian and Edinburgh)
Full-time, Permanent
Lothian and Edinburgh (On the road)
We are seeing an enthusiastic and diligent individual to fill this full-time, permanent role working for one of the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of professional refrigeration. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and training within the refrigeration trade.
Key Objective:
To assist in the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of all types of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, all in accordance with industry recognised best practice and standards covering the entire range of Williams and other manufactured products supplied and installed throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- To operate under the guidelines of the Project Manager and Engineer regarding start times, site arrivals and all other site-specific instructions.
- Assist in the installation of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
- Assist with service and maintenance work where necessary on equipment supplied by or maintained by the business.
- Loading and unloading of company vehicles with fellow engineers.
- To complete accurate paperwork / timesheets and return them to the Installation Manager as required.
- To make certain that the correct tools, PPE and equipment are available to carry out the prescribed works in a safe manner at all times, alerting the Installation Manager or Project Manager to any unsafe conditions that may arise.
- To take responsibility for the maintenance and use of PPE and all company tools / equipment issued, ensuring they are kept in good order.
- To undertake any training as required by the business.
- To work away from home occasionally when the need arises.
- When fully trained - to participate with the service standby evening and weekend call-out rota and help provide cover when necessary.
Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Experience of refrigeration systems or another trade is desirable
- Knowledge of electrical circuits

Salary: From £25,688.00 per annum
